Competition Diesels @ Houston Raceway Park?

What is the best day to see some diesels run at Houston raceway park? I went there last Saturday (or was it the Saturday before last?) for the Mopar day. I was hoping to see how the diesels go about launching. There was a lot of good racing going on but not a single diesel.

Anyone around here run their trucks there?

Usally Friday night is the best night. There is usally at least 2 out there, sometimes more.

on edit: There will be a PowerStroke there on Sunday that will do mid 13's on fuel only. KEEP IT FRIENDLY BOYS!!!

Since the Clash race was cancelled I've got 6 trucks ready to race. It would be nice if we could get MDW and the Diesel Innovations crew to show up all on one night. We could have a nice little gathering.



Anyone interested around the weekends of Nov. 8th or 15th?

There is a race being planned at Ennis sometime in November. Don't know the exact dates yet, but it's going to be soon.

I'm just a novice, but I'm ready to start learning. I went up there Sunday. Diesel Innovations was there (white Powerstroke 2wd) along with another fella in a Red 4wd powerstroke. I talked with the guy in the white truck (can't remember his name) and he said his best time for the night was 13. 5.

I'm still waiting on my fuel line upgrades. Rod said they should be here this week.

Do all of you in the 13's have drive shaft loops? MDW said he hasn't been checked, but I would hate to get there ready to race and get called on it.

13. 00 or faster if you are running street tires and 13. 99 or faster for slicks. Those are DHRA and NHRA rules



IHRA is 11. 99 or faster.

I talked with David of Diesel Innovations a few days ago and I think we're going to try to get together @ Baytown on Sunday Nov. 16.



I've got 5 trucks committed with me already plus whatever David can bring out.



Hopefully the Chip Wheeler gang will show up to play as well since this is right in there backyard. We've got quite a few drag racers in this area, the trick is trying to get them to all show up on the same date.



This should give MDW enough time to make a good showing as well with at least one of his trucks.

We are going to www.standardtransmission.com/ Saturday to pickup a fully rebuilt 5spd for Davids (nephew) truck and I'm dropping my truck off to www.etperformance.cc/ tonight for David McClain to do the head gasket, so it looks like both trucks will be ready soon.

The last two times we lined up together at the track I was really confused. After I launched I kept looking over in the other lane and couldn't find anybody. I thought I was on a by (myself) run.



I'm already running more lift, bigger tires, less timing, smaller injectors and one less turbo. Not sure what else I need to give up.

There is suppose to be a huge race on November the 15th, but for street cars only. They are calling it the Clobberthon. I went to the first one, all cars, no rice, most everyone at 11. 50 or better.



Was out Friday night (24th) and a guy with twins on a dually (Dodge of course) snapped his drive shaft where the back shaft slides onto the yoke just after the carrier. I was parked down at the finish line, the truck lurched and a loud BBAAMM followed. He is running the 19. 5 Tires. Great looking truck. I believe that Jeff Prince from Corpus, did his twins.



I will keep a watch on this thread and see you guys there.

Ok, both trucks are back together

Got a new trans in the nephews truck from http://www.standardtransmission.com/.

We also put a new head gasket on mine. We are worn out but we will be ready for the fun as long as nothing else goes wrong
