Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Differance Between 2nd and 3rd gen 5600

What is the differance between 2nd and 3rd gen NV5600s? Is the trans identical? Does it bolt up the same? Anything differant? Thanks.

Same. All the way through to the clutch kits for them.

Well, that depends on the year of the 2Gen. Any truck built prior to July 2000, would have the smaller input shaft.

The early 5600 used 1-1/4" input shaft, the later ones used 1-3/8", not sure of the date they changed.

Ok. Yes. My bad. I should have seen that one coming. Yeah, I was thinking the ones after the input shaft change. I need all the strength I can get. The reson I am asking is I am going to get one for the crew and thought I would ask before I order one and find out that something is differant and it won't work. Thanks.

Gee, noone reads. Try July 5, 2000. Anything prior is 1 1/4. Anything after is 1 13/8.

Good plan, order a new one.
