Today while setting the valve lash on my truck (first time I have done it personally) I noticed that there was a difference between TDC and Half past overlap by about 2 thousands. First I brought # 1 half turn past overlap and had 12 thou on intake and 22 on Exhaust. After my son showed up and I was able to set it at TDC with timing pin (with his help) I re-checked #1 and it was a real snug on 10 thou and 20 thou respectively. Has anybody else ran across this and which is the better place to set them at. I double checked my findings and procedure even used a dial indicator and found the same differences. I have done gassers before just never had time to do my own truck in the past.
On a side note I fixed KDP yesterday did the tab fix and checked all the bolts I could get to, changed front seal while I had it apart. took about 4. 5 hrs everything was tight and pin hadn't moved but glad it is done.
