Difference between light oil?

Does anybody know the difference between off-road diesel, on-road diesel, and #2 heating oil? I'm aware of the tax implications and that on-road diesel has low sulphur but was wondering about other differences.

It depends on many things. Mostly, the difference is the dye and whether it is taxed or not for highway use. Different manufacturers have additive packages, especially with their "premium" fuel.

About the only difference is the tax and dye. Most refiners don't mess with a high sulfur diesel anymore.
