Is there much of a difference between 24v trucks between different model years? Does any particular years have any good or bad quirks?

I noticed that most of the guys who own a 24v, own a 2001... is there a reason for that?

Just curiouse.

The 6 speed was introduced in '99, but had the smaller 1 1/4" input shaft. The input shaft size was increased to 1 3/8" with a larger clutch/flywheel in 2000.

Midway through the 2001 year model the rear brakes were changed to discs.

These are 2 that come to mind quickly.

One reason there are differing numbers for the different model years, and perhaps the main reason, is that the length of the model years varied drastically. Model year 2000 was unusually short (July 1, 1999 to December 31, 1999 I think) while model year 2001 was unusually long.

The reason for the differing model year lengths had something to do with D/C playing games with smog rules.
