This whole thread brings up something I have been thinking about for awhile. How do we get a baseline of how our trucks are performing short of periodic Dynoing, timed at drag strip, timed up a certain hill, etc. We all go with the seat-of-the-pants feel. That is strictly subjective and not objective. I, myself, am also considering different injectors but would like to establish a baseline so that if something quits working right I would know and have quantifiable results. I seem to recall someone (maybe Geno's) selling some device that measures HP and Torque. Anybody use it and is it an accurate measurement? Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Here ya go, great device and if used correctly, very close to the dyno.

Thanks Kurt for the prompt response. I went to GTECH's website and read with great interest. I assume that you either have or have used one of these devices personally. When you say, "used properly" are you referring to the exact tilt of the device for the correct weight to be entered into the unit? I guess, if it works as advertised, that this might be the most cost-effective way to achieve what I am looking for (the baseline). Once again, thanks!

Thanks for the reminder. Heck I forgot all about the Gtech. It came out back when I was driving sporty cars.

Now if I remember right they're fairly inexpensive --especially compared to multiple dyno runs.

You can test anytime, anywhere and eliminate the traction and boost issues with dynos. And you can pass it around.

Has anybody compared these with dyno numbers (which vary somewhat)? OH NO, now I have to have a BOMB tester!

Hmmmm. We know that the ETCs have larger injectors, and these have the same part numbers as the ETCs...

Hmmmm.

Hey Oxjockey, call me a dummy, but I'm not following you here. Enlighten me. :D

I'm wondering two things:

1) If the stock injectors for the ETC would make for a nice cheap bomb for the ETH motors (I've seen stock injectors on eBay for ~$85)

2) If I were a true scammer, I could be out marketing these stock injectors as aftermarket. You should get a slight increase in performance, if not more.

we will leave that to the good doctor ox. Speaking of which my bosch guru had a salesman come in offering DRs goods. He showed the guy by flow testing and verifying orifice diameter that it was a very expensive 275. That guy was appalled because he actually believed the hype.
