Difference in the 04 and 04.5

I was going to buy an edge for an 04, but was not sure what the difference is. I know that there is a samll price diff. in the edge, but what about the truck. Which one do I need to get? This is for a friend's truck, I am a little 12 valver :{ Thanks...

Your friend needs to look at the data decal on the left side of the valve cover. If the HP rating is 325 and the manufacture date is after 01/01/04 he has the 04. 5.

To clarify a little... . left side is drivers side, not as you look at the truck. Second, I think the data tage is lower than the valve cover, like on the timing case or something nearby, but I could be wrong.

To be technically correct and specific, according to the maintenance manual (2004), "The data plate can be found affixed to the breather cover on the left side of the engine. "



And I also think the 12V is great. I like my new truck a lot but I miss my '97 too.
