What are the differences between the first gen and second gen 12V engines. I know one is P pumped, some are intercooled, but what about the heads? etc. . I am looking for a long block to be build up and want to know what diffences in heads, etc, etc
All the 93 and older motors have the VE pump. I believe 89 and 90 motors are non-intercooled and have a different sized hold down nut for the injectors.
The injectors are physically larger on the non-intercooled motors, I don't think you want a head from an engine built before Jan 1, 1991 (when intercooling started I think).
