Lately my pride and joy, has been giving me a hard time when I try to start it. What happens is instead of the quick start that I am used to , I now have to crank on it and occasionally push down on the go pedal alittle to get it to start. Once it starts it runs fine , and the problem only occurs when it has been setting for a day or two. The return lines look fine and the pre- filter is clean, and the fuel filter was changed only 1,500 mi. ago. Any thoughts ? Also can someone tell me the location of the overflow valve spring ? And for what it's worth the truck has only 42,xxx mi. on the clock. Any help would be appriciated.

Was going to suggest return fuel valve, transfer pump, fuel shut off solenoid ( it mite not being opening all the way) and return lines again( they can pull air in with out leaking at first as the cracks get more and bigger than you mite see it leaking.

I never caught my lines red handed leaking just the tell tale signs that they were.

Return fuel valve ( overflow valve) is located at the front and top/back of the injector pump. There will be a banjo bolt and (metal) line coming out of it running along back of injector pump.

Remember if you take it out to check it stuff a rag between engine and pump so you won't loose tiny washer.

Thanks for the info Bill, I changed the supply hose , and it seemed that even though the hose was good, the clamp had somehow loosened up (clamp on) oh well total cost of repair was only about six bucks and I believe the problem is solved. Thanks again. Brent
