84' 2.2 liter mitsubishi diesel engine?

Thinking and looking,80s Dodge crew, gasser with a 93 D250 CTD automatic. Wondering with the crew cab being 4wd and the D250 being 2wd would I have to have another A518 or could it possibly put a new output shaft and housing or something to that effect? Would the CTD bolt up into the 360s place in the crew also? Thanks

Jim -

Are you wanting to keep the 4wd or go with 2wd only? If keeping the 4wd I'd find a 4wd 518 and run that. Don't know about swapping shafts to convert a 2wd 518 into a 4wd unit - you'll need a mated 205 t-case from a cummins too - they're about $500.

I don't know about the motor mounts - haven't got that far yet ;) - been bustin' my butt on the RC :-laf

I'm willing to bet the Cummins will bolt up to a gasser crossmember somehow, but I'll have to defer to the guru's that have already been there and done that.

A 518 should require the od unit be swapped for one from a 4x4 application I believe. Or if you wanted to change things up a bit, use a divorced t-case and use the trans you have.

on the engine mounts on my rc the drivers side works fine as it is. on the pass. side i had to grind off the 1/2 " placement nub and it worked fine, or you can drill a hole in the crossmember for it
