I'm not 100% sure on the 98's, but on my 01. 5 with a dana 80 and a tracloc the factory did a crappy job of stacking the plates and clutches in my rear end. I pulled it apart and restacked them, added some LSD additive until the chatter went away, now it works great. Well as good as an LSD can work. It sucks for rock crawling, but does GREAT in the mud. If it's not working the only way to fix it is to pull it and restack it, or get new clutches. Pretty easy job, I did it in about 3 hours and that was taking my time. I have a pic of it in my gallery but for some reason it won't come up right now.
Factory stack was

now it's staggerd c-p-c-p-c-p-c... etc
