I'm getting ready to change my differential fluid for the first time. Can anyone advise me what the capacity of a Dana 70 is with the stock cover?

Thanks

I am getting ready to change the fluids in mine too. . and I was told that both the front and the back take a little less then 4 quarts each.

I HIGHLY recomend the mag-hytec diff cover )

It doubles the capacity to help keep the oil cool while towing or long trips. Also it has a dipstick and a drainplug both are magnetized so when you check the level, you can remove metal and such!

Best $230 I had spent. no more need to remove cover and the seal can withstand 140psi with no leaks (rubber o-ring) If you are going to do the cover, might as well get the new cover.

Eric:

Until this time last week, I had planned on going with the Mah-Hytec cover. However, 8-1/2 months ago, a large company that makes tape, sandpaper, and sticky notes, whom shall remain nameless, bought the company that I've been with for over 28 years. Last Monday they waltzed in and proceeded to tell us that they were shutting us down. They managed to run a very successful business into the ground in less than a year. Anyway, no new toys for my truck until I find a new job.

My Mag Hytec cover has been sitting in the garage for about a year now. I was just out there playing with it and prep-ing for install. One question, do any of you put RTV over the O ring as well or is the O ring sufficient? Thanks.
