Interested, with all the different posts and disscussions out there, how the actual percentages add up.

Also note if you tow and/or haul heavy.

Thanks for your input.

I tow a 5er that has a GCVW of 11K. I tow this about 30 days a year for camping trips and summer vacation. I use 75W-90 Amsoil synthetic oil for both front and rear axles.

I use the 75W-140 Amsoil synthetic in both front and rear. I also have a 11K gross 5th wheel but have not towed in in 2 years. I is sitting at my Dad's place in Wyoming and I still live in PA.

I use Redline 75W-90 in the front and Redline 75W-140 in the rear. Been using Redline in the drag car for the last 15 years without fail.

Sounds just like me. Glad I'm not alone. Same... . everything written.

Amsoil 75-90 severe gear. Tow 33 ft 5er toyhauler when fully loaded GCWR is between 21-22k. Use it about 5 times a year. In off RV season, haul lots of firewood for the wood stove.

I ran the Amsoil Severe Gear 75w140 from 10-45K after getting rid of the stock Mopar fluids. I sent in an oil sample at 30K and it came back telling me the fluid was still good as new. I sent in another oil sample at 40K and it also came back telling me it was still good. I decided to change the fluid at 45K to the Amsoil Severe Gear 75w110. I'll oil sample it after 15K use. I tow on average 18K loads, about 2/3 of my trucks mileage is towing those kind of loads.

I've been changing Rear fluid every 25K and Front every 50K since adding the Dynatec hubs. 4 rear changes, 3 front changes. I use 75W90 in both ends (I don't tow much except a occasional IHC Scout... and I'm between Scouts right now). So far I've used Royal Purple twice, Redline twice in the rear. One Royal Purple and two Redline's in the front. I actually have Amsoil 75W90 in the garage right now for the next change. I can't notice any difference in milage or noise and the oil looks, and smells, new at the oil change. I think any premium synthetic gear oil is fine. How often are you guy's changing yours... I think every 25K is way too often!

I use Lubrication Engineers 1605 Duolec Gear Oil. It is a 110wt oil that I believe to be the best oil. It will not mix with water under any circumstances, and it coats all of the parts and protects like nothing i have ever seen. I challenge you to put whatever gear oil that you use into a drinking water bottle in equal parts with water and shake repeatedly. After several times of shaking it, they will begin to mix. Lubrication Engineers 1605 will not blend! And No I don't sell the stuff, I just believe it to be the best.

75w90 amsoil severe. But just made the switch. Tow/haul heavy 30% of trucks mileage. Was running mopar from dealer change, but had slight film in each dif, too many miles on mopar fluid I'm guessing, not sure but prob like 30k. Ring and Pinion look fine.
