I just spent the last hour and a half driving around McKinney TX looking for differential lube for an 05 3500 11. 5 rear end. I couldn't find anything that I was familiar with... .

I saw "super tech" (or something like that) at Wal-Mart, and "Lucas" at O'Reily's... . No major brands.

Any ideas on where I can buy the 75-90 I need around here? (North dallas or anywhere in the metroplex for that matter)

Anyone know anything about the Lucas product?

I was also given the "warranty voiding" warning by a guy at a parts store if I didn't buy Mopar diff lube. Anyone had this problem?

Any help or advice on this would be much appreciated.

I use Royal Purple, you can get Amsoil, Redline and others like Mobile #1 should be available somewhere in you area. Average price $9. 00-$12. 00 per quart. Good luck.

I got my 75W-90 full synthetic (Chevron) from the dispenser hose in the big rig shop at my local Peterbilt dealer. Bring your own container. It was $3. 35/pint (about a year ago). 13 pints did one change on 9. 5" front and 11. 5" rear difs. on '03 dually.

BTW, jacking the front (by the frame) to change relative positions of things facilitates removal of the obstructed bolts on the front dif. cover.

Drive safe.

Oo.

I use Mobil 1 synthetic. Pep Boys, Checker, Autozone, Kragen or one of those should carry it. I paid $9. 99 per quart. No issues with warranty, but I haven't had any rear end problems, either. Lots of people I know use the Mobil 1.

I was quoted $189 to change out by the dealer. Yowza!

Checked Autozone today. No luck. They had "Coastal" and the Lucas stuff again.

I'll call Pep Boys in Plano tomorrow but I'm running out of places to check. I'll see if the local International/Cummins shop can help me.

Any other ideas anyone has please let me know.

I know there's a truck service place on the 75 heading north out of McKinney. They might be a place to look at.

I'm kinda new to the area since I just bought a house out in Anna and still live in Commiefornia 'till I get a job out there.

I used Royal Purple in mine which I've found in stock at most Napa locations. Haven't been in the one on US380 east of US75. If not you can head down to the one at Ave. K and 18th St. in Plano.

You come from the land of Lubrication Engineers! LE oil is excellent, some of us pay some good coin to ship those cases from Fort Worth, I suggest that!!!

Found Royal Purple, Valvoline and Lucas synthetics at Napa in McKinney. 9. 50-11. 50 a quart!! How does that price compare for what you all are paying?

Rman, are you referring to the Lucas? The guy at NAPA stated he thought it was the best and of course, it was the most expensive... However, a buck fifty or so extra may be worth it if it is the best.

Gee, I only paid 34k+ for the truck!!

Just picked up a gallon of Fleetrite by Navistar, 75-90 heavy duty full synthetic, for $37. 41 a gallon at Southwest International Trucks in McKinney, north of town on the 75 service road. Fleetguard FS19579's for $9. 72 as well. Very helpful and good service too. I'll have to go back for more as they sold me their last gallon... .

Thanks again for the help, all.

I live in McKinney. I can order Amsoil for you if you want, PM me and let me know. It generally takes a couple days for it to be delivered.
