03 doing wierd stuff?

I did the front and rear differential lube change today. I'm convinced that whomever put those covers on used an air tool. Yeah, I know they used the red stuff on the threads, but this is ridiculous.

For the rear diff, I used Amsoil I had left over from my '99. It's the blue lube.

On the front I used the new improved Amsoil EP lube. It looked like honey, but was thin.

I noticed some filings on the front cover, but none on the rear. I had 20k on the lube, so it looked a bit skunky :p

Otherwise, it went well until I volunteered to change the oil in my wife's Tyroda Tacoma... . :{

Yea and that darn steering linkage can make it a PITA too!! I did my 03 2500 and the rear took 10 mins start to finish, front with the bolts being tight and the steering link in the way it took about 45 minutes between the yelling and cursing at it. :{
