I check my diff weekly, (MagHytech cover) on the dipstick there is consistently two lumps of material, (gray color when wiped) round 1/4, (. 25) inch in diameter. Is this my LSD dissenegrating, or other internal parts wearing out? I've heard some rolling clanking noises#@$%!, but goes away once over 15mph. Thanks for any help or ideas y'all have in advance.

Patrick.

i used to live up at arrowhead. driving up and down 'the hill' is really, really hard on your vehicles. think about it - you are turning practically the whole time and climbing as well (when you are going back up). if your truck has posi that has got to wear the clutches. down here we coast around the corners (that are not in grid lock). that mountain has wore out a few trucks of mine. was worth it tho, i love it up there...

Hey Bob and Don, thanks for the response! The material when wiped off the dipstick resembles "anti-sieze" lubricant. Do you think that is the LSD clutches? Will she keep on trucking it those completely go away:confused: I know it is hard to trouble shoot in print, but I'll always ask questions around here:eek: Bob if you saw a sample of the material could you form a diagnosis:-laf, diesel doctor?

Thank guys, Patrick

Sounds like clutch material, you might want to add another bottle of lmtd slip additive, you may loose the posi feature but it may live a lil longer.
