One more ques if you grind the very bottom will it mess up your idel? In the pict. I see staight cuts up and down will the trottle leaver get stuck if you make the ridge on the plate to sharp cause when it slides its going from bottom to top correct?

Keep in mind that there are at least a couple of things that will influence what the governor lever is trying to do.

1. Throttle application

2. RPM

Ok, here's where I'm not exactly sure how this all falls together, so I'm going to preface this with a big *I THINK THIS IS HOW IT WORKS*

At idle you are not applying throttle, so the governor lever is not trying to move forward towards the plate. Even if the governor lever were trying to move forward it would be stopped by the AFC foot since at idle there is no boost to move the AFC foot out of the way, so the short answer is no matter what you do to the plate you won't mess up the idle.

The governor lever has a nose on it that is kind of rounded so it won't get stuck under shallow straight cuts, in fact all the stock plates that I have seen had a straight cut on them.

When people talk about the governor lever getting stuck, what they mean is that it gets stuck under the bottom of the plate where it can go a pretty good distance under the plate and get past the rounded point on the nose. If you take a look at the picture that bmoeller posted you can see a little of what I'm talking about. Notice that plate has a straight cut on it.

you will most likely want to try sompthing like this for startershttp://www.tdr1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=123922

has a good fuel curve and its not to agressive, i made the exact same one at the same time, and its a noticible difference. this would give you a good starting point to go from, as your need for power increases you can cut more away as you learn what you will want to cut. just tryin to help a bit.
