I have a 2015 2500 CTD, Laramie CC. Pretty much from day one l had an issue with the truck not always shifting into park without retrying or jiggling the shift lever. Two different dealers were unable to make it happen as it was intermittent. When I took it in for the BTSI recall I asked if this might fix the problem. The dealer felt it was unlikely and in so many words saying that not going into park might be operator error. I picked the truck up after hours and when I started it up to leave it would not come out of park. After several tries as previously described by others I got on the road. The next day the dealer said bring it back if it persists. The dealer is an hour to an hour and a half away depending on traffic times 4 trips if I have to leave it, so I waited until my next service. The issue got progressively worse and in the 30 days prior to going in I kept a log of both issues (not going in to park and not coming out) including photos. Dealer replaced the BTSI again, went to pick it up and right in the service lot it would not come out of park. Service Advisor was standing right there and said let me try. Of course it came right out. It’s done it a few more times and now seems to be working properly. So, not sure what to think. I’ll keep watching it and also try the suggestions made in this thread until I’m due back in for service. Happy to know that I’m not the only one having this issue.

This thread seems to be dormant now, but I thought I would update my post. After my previous post the problem persisted and I took the truck in for servicing prior to to cross country road trip. I asked them to look at the shift issue again. When picking up the truck I was told that I just needed to apply more pressure to the brake pedal when shifting out of park. Well, when it’s stuck in park I can stand on the brake with both feet and it still won’t budge. Love my truck, but this is really frustrating.

Mine actually does this every once in a while. Recall shows completed, guess not properly.
I noticed it always seems worse if I am sitting in Park with my foot on the brake for an extended amount of time.
Say 60+ seconds, like when I start truck and then get interrupted by call, text, child, slow line at fast food drive thru etc...
