I've got a 1998 Dodge 2500 4x4 ST. The headlight on the passenger side is extremely dim compared to the driver's side. I put brand new headlight fixtures and bulbs on both sides and still, no good. Several people have mentioned a bad ground as the culprit, but where is the headlight system grounded? Maybe its something else? Any leads are appreciated.

Check fuses. I had a buddy with the same problem on an 02 and I vaguely remember him saying something about a bad fuse.

The grounds are right down behind the headlights, down close to the airbag triggers. I monkeyed with my grounds sevearl times trying to fix my "weak eye". I finally found that the electrical socket that plugs on the headlight bulb had a short in it. Bought a new one at Auto Zone, soldered it in, and no more problems.

Suggestion - Switch bulbs side to side. If the problem stays on the same side, the bulbs are OK. Clean grounds. If still no joy, only the socket remains.
