It just stopped working. I still have power to it, it just doesn't stay in the "on" position. When I hold it in place, it lights up, indicating there is power to the switch. Is there a fix, other than a new mirror? I like the function and have never had a problem with it working, even with tinted windows.

Mine also works good... ... Now that I turned it upside down so the headlights actually hit the sensor hole.

AMEN! I was about to swap mirrors with somebody without auto dim till I seen this a few weeks ago. Works much better upside down!

I never noticed it working, so I just turned it off. I have tinted windows on the camper shell and the rear window, I doubt it ever sees bright lights.

Thats what I thought. In fact I thought that for 5 years, until somebody here either said it, or gave me the idea to turn it upside down. I still don't see it working, but the lights are much dimmer at night in it!

I always push mine all the way up because I am tall, and I hate it being a blind spot right in the middle of the windshield. (plus I always hated that blue band across the top of the windshield, sure was happy when I realized my 02 did not have it!)

What was happining was the little "hole" in the top if the mirror where the sensor is was hidden behind part of the overhead console and the headlights behind me would never hit the sensor.

Old thread, but I searched and didn't find an answer to John's question, the same thing just happened to me, I probably haven't toggled this thing more than a dozen times since the truck was new, but turned it off the other night and now the green LED only lights while holding the switch depressed.

Anybody have any tips for opening the mirror and doing a repair?
