My transmission dip stick is marked with a Min point, a cross hatched area that says OK, and a Max point. No idea from these markings about how much to add to move the level up a certain amount. Do I had a quart when it's at Min? A pint? A quart? A gallon? or what? Does anyone know? I know how to check it ok, but have no idea what to do if it's out of range. I can just pour some in and go for a ride until it's at operating temp and see what happens I guess.

Joe,I put in a quart to get the level from the min hole to the top of the crosshatched area with the transmission hot. Only time I've had to add ATF was the only time I let the dealer service the transmission.

Thanks Bill,

Mine is about halfway between the min mark and the cross hatched area. I replaced a leaking pan gasget and lost a little. I guess I'll leave it alone then. It would be nice if the crazy thing was marked in pints or quarts. I didn't want to overfill it but had no idea how much was needed to bring it up to the ok part.
