Dipricol Egt Gage Question ?

Because I'm using the 3 pod windshield mount I going to have to make the wires longer on all three gages. I was told that this might screw up my EGT gage. Is this true ? Now after see the new Isspro gage photo I'm wondering if I should have bought those, they look pretty good .

If you bought the gauges from genos they can take care of you. From what I understand, the gauge is calibrated based on the resistance of the wire and thermocouple and how much that resistance changes. By going to a longer or shorter cable than calibrated for you can throw off the gauge (if I understand this correctly). Genos, sells their gauges with several different cable lengths and each gauge is callibrated prior to shipping (from what they told me, and I believe them). So. . . . if you order the gauge from genos with the right length cable, you should be good. If you take a gauge that came with a 6 foot lead and attach it toa 15 foot lead, i think you may possibly be off. Don't have a clue how much, though. Good luck!

The ISSPro's do look good, but even with that big 'ol white dot, I'd still rather have my Di/Pro's. I like really like the simple mechanical design. She's always on duty. The only electronics on my Di/Pro gauges are the backlights.



I'm with Diesel Nut... Check with Geno's. Those guys are HARD TO BEAT.

I've installed a couple of the DiPricol EGT gauges in the dash pod... ... not had a problem with the 7' wiring that comes with it.



Have you routed the wiring already?



Geno's is good to work with!

I think he's got the overhead pod. He's got to go up the a-pillar, then across the headliner. Perty sure he's gonna have to have the longer harness. I'd bet Geno's will sell it to him regardless of where he bought the gauge.

Your right - the overhead console mount that's starting to be popular would require a longer wiring harness



Hummmmm... ... what other gauges is he considering puting up there... ... I'm not sure I would want fuel (glycol with a mech isolator) or oil press going clear up there... ... . hummmmm.

I'm thinking of doing a single A-pilliar pod for fuel pressure. Also I'm being told by Geno's that you can splice into your egt wire up to 40ft with out having any calibration issue.

If you route the lead down the passenger side to the turbo you'll be OK. We have had a lot of customers do it that way without any problems, double check to see if you have the 8 foot lead or something shorter. We also sell a 12 footer if decide you need it.

I ran mine down the passenger side A-pillar. It was tight but worked great.

I got the standard length cable for the drivers a-pillar. I had extra cable after routing it through the a-pillar on drivers side, down through the dash, and through the firewall at the rubber plug on the floor where the clutch pedal is. Plenty of cable and the gauge reads right along with the TST readout. The TST was installed later, so, yes, I do have two EGTs now. I wanted it for the defueling feature, otherwise I wouldn't need both. But it is nice to have a backup for sanity check.
