Dipricol EGT vs Isspro?

I just tried to order a Dripricol EGT for my 03 from Geno's and they said it is discontinued and the new model is not out yet. Also said the Isspro is a better match. Is this the general consensus for the 03? I'm just installing one gauge in the A-pillar pod. Thanks.

I have been very dissapointed in my Isspro. First off they are NOT a good match to the factory guages. I had VDO's in my '01. 5 and they matched perfectly, but the Isspro's didn't really come close to being a perfect match to my '05. Also, 2 weeks after I installed my EGT guage, the amplifier box went bad, which was a hassle to swap out. The Isspro's may be the closest to stock, but certainly don't expect an exact match.



Also may want to reconsider the A-Pillar, I have tried both brands of A-Pillar mounts and both flat out sucked, poor fit on both. I just wish we had an in dash mount for those of us with electronic 4WD.

I have all Isspro gauges. I like them, except for the oil pressure gauge (long story). My pyrometer is NOT an "Enhanced Visibility" model, and does not match the dash at all. No need for an amplifier box on non-EV models.



I've not had any trouble with the gauge since install. One of the nice things about not requiring any electrical connection to the vehicle (other than the backlight), is the gauge works even with the engine off. Sounds dumb, but I like being able to see the temperature in the pipe without the engine running.



The thing I like most about the Isspro pyrometers is the color-coded dial.

Check out Autometer, great gauges and great support. I was not been able to find any information about the DiPricol or any factory web site, from what I found I think they are made by Pricol in India and resold here under the name DiPricol.

I have Dipricol gauges they are the OEM for Caterpillar I've been very happy with them. They are the best night viewing. They don't need 12v power for anything but the bulbs. The get there readings without 12v power.

What 2 brands? I'd like to think an OEM one like in the srt-10 would fit without ZERO problems.

How so, is it the day time look or lighting at night? I ask because I am considering these for my 05

I just wish we had an in dash mount for those of us with electronic 4WD.

Have you considered the overhead? I did an OEM SRT-10 A pillar in my 03 and then went to an over head pod when I needed more room which I ended up liking even better.

I have just installed the Isspro EV's in my truck. A couple of observations:



1. While they are a close match to stock, the center of the needle has it's own design which is different. Not unattractive, but the DiPricols are an exact match in daylight, with the exception of the DiPricol EGT. The DP EGT has a frosted center, which looks nothing like a stock gauge.



2. The gauges look near stock during daytime, but at night the needle is more orange than red. Additionally, the backlighting somewhat illuminates the face, so it does not look black like the stock gauges.



3. The pyro seems to react a bit slower than my Westach.



4. The lighting on the Isspro gauges is even. I noticed that the DP gauges all have different brightnesses at night. That was the main reason for me going with Isspro.

I have a set of Di-Procols, and the I don't like the EGT gauge at night, the lighting is different from my other gauges, and the needle is really hard to see, also don't like the white dot on the middle of the face.

I pulled a bulb before install to look and they are just bulbs. No cover.

I have blue covers on my 3 Isspro EV gauges. The color looks much more green than blue, and is not very intense at all. The "T10" and "T5" refers to the bulb type. IIRC, my boost gauge (mechanical) is a single T10 bulb, and my oil gauges both use 2 T5 type bulbs.



To be honest, the bulb covers are a bit on the expensive side. They're overpriced for a thin little piece of silicone.

Interesting. . If the gauges don't come with any bulb covers and I decide on these I will probably buy those too just to see whats best.

Retail is . 89 cents ea. so it won't break the bank, your right. . probably pennies to make but convenience of not having to find the right stuff is worth something.



I had SPA's in my 03 and they are truly a nice gauge but I am not so sure about that route again.

Good grief. The Isspro's are almost a perfect match. Not quite, but pretty dang close. It's not that big of a deal IMO.

I actually bought my gauges with black faces because they don't match the factory. I wanted some variety in my cab.

I have the DP gauges in my truck. I'm not too happy with the lighting on the pyrometer. It is near impossible to read at night with the dimmer all the way down where I like it. I used the SRT-10 pod and the dual steering column pod. I can't say enough good things about the fit and finish. I also have the overhead 3 gauge pod. It is the worst thing I have ever put into a vehicle. I trimmed it but I could never get it to fit flush and it has eventually riped my rear view mirror off. I no longer have the pod installed in the truck.

Thats too bad, I do agree the mounting could be more secure and will most likely bomb the pod when I do another. IMO its a great place for the gauges.

I agree, the location is great. But the DP temperature gauges require 5 wires EACH. That combined with the highway's out here make it near impossible to stay in one spot.
