Has anyone had success with the Diprocol isolator? I have just installed my second one and it lasted about ten minutes before filling my cab with diesel  The push lock connection on the gauge side leaks and I can deal with that, but the object of the isolator is to keep the diesel under the hood if this happens correct? If anyone has any success (or failure) stories I would love to hear them.

Hoss,

I have DiPricol gauges, but the isolator is from autometer I believe. I purchase my gauge package from Ken Jones out of Utah somewhere. Sorry I do not remember right now. I have had it working since August. No problems.

I am confused how you get fuel into the cab, when the secondary side is antifreeze. Unless the diaphragm breaks and pushes all antifreeze out first?

Am I missing something here?

Please explain your setup.

Kraut,

You are right the secondary side is antifreeze and the diaphragm apparently does break and I get fuel in the cab! Twice   First the connection from the secondary tube leaks the antifreeze out then comes the fuel.

Give Ken Jones a call. He has some other isolator that he was waiting on that does not use antifreeze. If you search on DiPricol in this forum, you will find his posts and number. Of course I cannot comment on the new one.

There have been posts about these things failing in the past.

Good luck!

I spoke with Dave Meheen from Diesel Power Products today (I bought my gauges from them) he said Diprocol had a batch of bad isolators and both of mine were from that batch. He is working with Diprocol to get me a fix.

I have had nothing but the utmost in professional service from Dave. He runs a great outfit they just sold me a bad isolator. I am hoping to have a good isolator or just run a stainless line soon.

Third time was the charm. :) I think I finally have a good isolator. Readings are on the money and no leaks :D :D I have only had this one in for a week but so far so good.

I have the Autometer isolator. I run 2 fuel pressure gauges (15lb main 7lb pusher on Carters) I have never had a problem with leaking. But it does take as much as ½ hr to warm them up before they get to the right pressure. When cold out around zero both read up to 6lbs at start, after time one comes up to 9lbs and then 12lbs. Could be the mixture of 50-50% antifreeze. I could change it to a higher mixture. This could help.

Hoss I installed the Di-Prcol also after a week one morning I started the engine and antifreeze ran in the floor and the guage dropped to zero, I pulled the guage out and seen that I had the hose in a bind, so what i did was trim the hose then started the engine held the hose in a cup of antifreeze and shut off the engine the hose refilled with antifreeze i pluged the hose back on and have had no more problem, Harv

Excellent fix :D

If I have this problem again  I will do that.

Thank for the input that may help a lot of other guys.
