Dipstick question....

I remember reading it awhile back but cannot find it... . How much of a difference in oil is there between the "SAFE" hashmarks? Something like a quart?

I am pretty sure it is 2 qts but I have never had to add oil to mine between changes

There has been some mis-calibration of some dipsticks in the past as well as some recent... . I would change the oil, put in 12 quarts (with filter) and note the position on the dipstick... maybe notch with a file... then you will know for sure in the future. . 02 FWIW

Mine is going to be different because I have 2 bypass oil filtration setups, so I have more like 13-14 quarts to fill...

Just wondering because I removed my TP filter and noted the oil level, as it went down... . Now wondering how much (exactly) what I needed to get her back up... I just poured a quart in and got her back to safe... but need to do more investigating on how much I lost due to the change in filter OR how much I've lost due to blowby, if any... .
