the ol 5. 9 is getting a little dirty and think'n about clean'n her up... what the best method and/or product to use?

I've heard that 409 works well...

take it to the car wash and wait a little bit for it to cool down and spray it down with simple green and wash her with hot water, be sure to stay clear of air intake and computer stuff, other than that, just hose it off, if she has grease and oil and junk on her i would simple green and use a brush to knock it loose then wash , just my 002

There has been alot of talk recently on this subject. I use "GUNK" engine brite, works fine. I hear simple green is good too but have heard that it is not great for aluminum so watch the valve cover. I am still trying to find some citrus stuff that is supposed to be great and non toxic. Will post it when i find it.
 
Yeah, the thing was if you use Simple Green make sure you rinse well.

Even dish washing soap is good. Just spray it on, wait a while, rinse it off. I have a compressor and I usually blow it off afterwards; if you have a shop vac, that works good as well.
