I usually go 5000 miles between oil changes. I know my book says 7000 for light duty and 3500 for severe duty so I just split the difference. Recently though I installed RV injectors and a BD modified stock turbo. Well now my truck smokes quite a bit and now I'm on a road trip in Mexico burning the old fashioned low sulfur diesel that has doubled my mosquito killing capabilities. My question is with all this unburned fuel going out my tailpipe is my oil getting dirty quicker too? Thanks.

I doubt it. Any suspended soot in the oil isnt going to harm anything between normal change intervals anyways. Do you have gauges? Because what the boost and EGT's are doing would help you understand if you've acquired a boost leak and potentially the reason for an increase in smoke.

Have fun in Mexico though and eat lots of good food.

By the way, is your avatar picture upside down for a reason?

I got gauges. BD diesel now says my turbo is too small and want me to buy another one. They also told me this one would work good with the RV injectors. Tried to fix my avatar many times without success. Thanks for the reply.

Maybe I'm not understanding but it looks to me as if the only power adding components you have is the RV275's. If thats the case then I'm not sure who at BD thinks your HX35 isnt capable of handling another 40 HP or so.....
Whats your boost and EGT numbers?

Hey I run RV 275 in my 01, no increase in smoke. Check your air filter. Consider changing to a BHAF,[big honking air filter] to get better flow. Also as Katoom is asking what are your boost and EGT.
