Just picked up my '05 and it has daytime running lights. Because of the way my neighbors house/bedroom window is oriented I want to be able to completely black out the lights as I am pulling up and backing in late at night.

I presume the answer is in the shop manuals somewhere but I haven't gotten mine yet. Does anyone know of a painless way to disable the DRL's?

**edit** the owners manual says that applying the parking brake will turn off the DRL's. Perhaps there is a way to fool the DRL's into thinking the parking brake is always on w/o having the rest of the dash (and the warning light/buzzer) knowing??

When I was in Canada moose hunting, the guide always just put one click on the parking brake in their trucks. Don't know of any other way.

yes it can be disabled

go to the dealer and ask them to disable it, it is a simple procedure in the FCM and simply needs to be turned off...
