my 95 2500 with 148k miles has developed the tell tale signs of a faulty tps. slow to lock, unable to hold lock, and downshifting out of od at inoportune times. has anyone disassembled a tps? i would like to try, but without any knowledge my method would probably involve a ball pin hammer. also. i've seen mention of weep holes, but i don't see any on mine that actually go all the way to the inside. if disassembly is not possible, who has the best price ?

mine started acting up about 94,000 miles so i took it apart and cleaned it up and put it back together and it works fine for the last 4 thousand miles or so. I used a dremel tool and avery fine tip to cut away the area that was glued together on one side and just pulled it apart. It is a very well made piece and i doubt it will ever wear out they just get dirty inside . You will have to glue it back together with silicone sealer of some kind ... Arnie

I've had good luck with my tps just cleaning it in place with no disassembly. I had tps caused hunting at about 20k, the stock tps now has 152k on it with no more problems. I include tps cleaning at every oil change. Just direct aerosol electronic cleaner at the shaft entering the tps while moving the throttle back and forth.
