All you guys who have installed rear disc brake conversion kits. Was it worth the time and expense?

Which kit is better and has the most straight forward install?

I'm getting ready to either swap to disc or go with 3" shoes in my drum brakes on my 1989 W250 CTD.

What is the general consensus of those who have done the swap?

Thanks.

Brakes

Jeff,

I am in the process of putting the disc brakes on my truck right now. It is on blocks as I write. I got the kit from EGR. Glen M. is very helpful with the parts and information. All of the pieces fit very well. With bearings, seals, speedi-sleeves, and cleaners, etc. I will have around $1,000 in the conversion. I PM you about some parts that I have. RDusch has a great website showing his disc brake conversion. I think disc brakes would be the way to go over the 3" brakes, if you are willing to lay out the money. I decided my truck was worth the investment because I am going to be keeping it for a long, long time and it is going to be worked hard. I need to have very dependable brakes. I hope this provides you with a bit of information. BTW, the EGR website is www.earthroamer.com/egr
