This is my first posting to this forum, and wanted to know if any one could tell me what year four wheel disc brakes and the 6 speed HO were offered on the same vehicle? I am considering a 2001, 2002 Quad Cab, short bed 4x4 6 speed. I would really appreciate all help.

Thanks for the help fellas. Do you have clutch upgrade opinions, as well as ideas for moderate performance enhancements?

Someone is going to say it. SOUTH BEND clutch! I just put a 13" ofe in mine and love it! Most others will agree that they are a little more pricey than some but well worth the money!

As far as power upgrades, start with gauges. exhaust temp is most important followed by fuel presure guage and get a boost gauge too. Everyone has their own opinion on what brand of gauge to get. Just look them all over and get the ones that you like best. As far as power that depends on where you want to go. The HO engines like injectors and SO likes the boxes but I like them both together!:D :D I'd say go with a edge comp or DDUFM, but there again, its all personal preference. If you go with injectors, I'd say take a hard look at a good set of the edms. You should also upgrade your restrictive fuel system and get a better air filter. Look at my sig. with my set up egts are controlable on the lower comp settings and good power at the higher settings when I want to play. The only things I might have changed, is I would have probably went with a set of Mach 2 edms and a DDUFM because of the aggesive timing on the comp. Would also like to try a bigger turbo but am scared of losing my low end power.

Someone else chime in here that knows more than me and has other opinions.

Thanks again for the information and recommendations. I'm glad--as I am new member, and new to diesels--that there is a forum like this with such a wealth of information and experience.

Regards,

Joe.

It's well worth the money and is very helpful fairly often. Glad to help you out.

Make sure that you do get 4 wheel discs. They are worlds better than disc/drum brakes, especially on these heavy pigs.
