Well, on the 03 Dodge I've got the one cracked clearance light, one door reflector and thats it so far. This is my second personal Dodge truck, plus one 91 farm truck. My first Dodge which I still have, had zero problems, very rare I know. I mostly praise my Dodge trucks because they serve me so well. This forum reflects the Dodge trucks well. I've learned a lot about what to watch out for... as in the problem areas. Great Forum.

The last three Fords were dealer queens. The 95 left me stranded when the starter fell off and it had lots of computer type problems. One later model 2wd had the front end welded on twice when new. The seats fell apart on our 2000 and newer company trucks. My brother had a Ford lemon, but his last Ford was perfect, but a gasser. His Diesel gave him lots of problems. And now we have the great 6. 0 Powerbroke. I looked at them, even drove one, stumbled, no low end etc. . Fords don't like me. :{

I've had better performance from the Dodges, thats why I drive one. :D

OOPPPS, I guess I shouldnt have posted how to dim the BRIGHT high beam lite.

They are probably laughing all over the site on that one. Can see it now: "Them DC boys dont even like the way the lite shines in their face. Why did they by a DC when the could have had a F**D w/o all THOSE (emphasis mine) problems. "

But then agn we could have had a non-running truck so that's why I CHOSE the CUMMINS!

OMG I cannot believe someone actually said that we don't post our problems. That has got to be the most moronic thing I have ever heard woooooo. Thats just too funny. 6000 trouble free miles here (or maybe I just deal with all these secret probems) . Best damn vehicle I have ever owned :)

For the record, I have noticed a few 'problems'. Never would have unless I read this fourm though... .

Clutch rattle... have to be next to a building to hear it, very faint. Doesn't bother me

Have the 2000rpm resonace/vibration. Never notice it unless I am trying to. Doesn't bother me

Otherwise, no complaints. Not that I am complaining about it in my above statements... If I wanted a Cadillac I would have bought one. I bought a tough durable truck to abuse and use like it should be used... . without it breaking.

It would be impossible for every vehicle made to be flawless, simply impossible. Nice thing about the law of avreages is that with every good one there is a bad one... lucky for us Dodge owners, all the bad ones are another brand :)

Amen, Brother Broussard:) . I think that many of us forget that we are driving a real heavy-duty pick-up truck, not a Ford F150;) . I have been amazed at the remarkably few real complaints I have seen about the G3's. There are far more positive posts than negative ones:D .

Warranty Improvement

Another interesting note. The Chrysler Group has improved warranty claims by somewhere around 15-20% a year, for the last few years. Total improvement since 1996 is something like 150%. Probably lead to the 7/70 warranty. While this tells us nothing about the competition, I believe it shows us that our trucks are improving.

However, long term durability and reliability is the most important consideration for me, not initial warranty claims. That said, it comforts me to have a Cummins, NV5600, and 9. 5 front, 11. 5 rear American Axles. :D

I think you also have to remember that our trucks are $40,000 investments. The old heavy duty trucks were rattle traps and rode like a buckboard. Their price reflected their lack of high tech gadgetry and refinement. Today pick up truck prices rival those of luxury cars and since the manufaturers are obviously going for the comfort/luxury end of the market with leather seats, sunroofs and all power accessories they might as well get it right.

WOW!!! A thread on the Ford (deserves correct spelling) site that PRAISES (sure, not much but it does) the DODGE. Some really intellegent postings w/o any "bashing".

Surprise, surprise (in the best Gomer Pyle voice) what is the world going to do - come to an end soon?

What transmission problems does the guy on the ford board continue to refer to? I remember seeing people here talk about a vibration with the nv5600 but I honestly can't think of many major transmission problems that keep the power from the ground like mentioned on that board. Somebody menioned that was the older transmission. I'm assuming they only care about automatic transmissions and ignore anything else.

Their trucks would be great if they could say Dodge trucks don't give any trouble and ours are even better. But since their Fords are trouble waiting to happen, they have to imagine trouble with the competition in a futile attempt to justify the troubles with their own trucks. Sad but true. Misery loves company. I just turned over 14k with mine and haven't had any trouble with anything. No first year production problems that (according to them) they all have. Sorry Ford fans... I'm not sitting at the dealership waiting on repairs and 14 computer re-flashes trying to get my truck to run, stay running, and quit leaking oil. Ya'll take the cake on that one. :D
