Distance And Tire Size?????

THE STCKER ON THE DOOR SAYS MY STOCK TIRE SIZE WAS 245's.

MY TRUCK HAD 265's WHEN I BOUGHT IT. I'M RUNNING 285's NOW.

MY WIFE WAS IN HER (STOCK)99 TAHOE AND I WAS IN MY DODGE. WE SET THE TRIP MILES TO "0" ON EACH VEHICLE. I DROVE 5. 9 MILES TO THE PLACE WE WERE GOING. BUT SHE HAD TRAVELED ALMOST 6. 4 MILES. IS THERE A FORMULA TO CALCULATE THE ACTUAL MILES I'M TRAVELING WITH THE BIGGER TIRES AND IS THERE A FIX. I PLAN TO GO TO 305's ????? (TFATH) THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP!!!

305/70/16's will give you the same reading as a 285/75/16. they are the same diameter [±1% on most models]

The 265's are the optional tire size. Mine has 'em and methinks the speedo is correct. I haven't checked it yet, but here's how I do.



Run ten miles of marked road -usually interstate- try not to change lanes. Your reading will be much more accurate over ten than one or two miles.
