The title pretty well says it.

Here's the details. I have a 95 single cab that I want to axe the computer and most of the stock wiring.

I still want to have my A/C, heat, signals (will retain stock steering column), and windshield wipers.

My first question is.

Does the computer have any actual control over any of these items? Or, are they "hard-wired" and just rely on relays and such?

For example what will it take to make the flaps on the HVAC system work correctly.

Or what about the blinkers and wipers. Can the turn signal switch and the wiper switch (lever on column) handle 12V and then send signal to a standard automotive relay? Or, do they deal with less voltage than that?

My engine is already hard-wired using a separate switch panel and relays.

Now I'm just down to all the details.

Any help would be appreciated.

Also looking for wiring diagrams for a 95.

Thanks for the help,

Wes

The truck's harness is in rough shape plus none of the underhood is hooked up to the motor. Without motor inputs I'm not even sure that computer would even try to work correctly.

I haven't tried it but I've been told that the computer won't be happy.

My motor is wired into a painless switch panel, my transmission to a stand alone controlled, and my guages have ALL been replaced by Auto Meter (RPM, Speed, Fuel Level, Volts, Oil Pressure, Water Temp) so I really don't NEED the computer or the mess that comes with it.

I also want rid of the factory fuse box and its mess.

I have plans to put a liquid to air intercooler where the factory fuse box sits now.

Batteries are all in the bed.

If I can get rid of it and still retain my amenities then great. If I can't then :{ Either way it'll all get sorted out.

My 95 was a gas half-ton so I don't know what the computer would do without any kind of signal.

On a slightly different path. Can I trick the stock ecm on the gasser into seeing a good run condition and therefor have all my stuff work as intended (HVAC, lights, wipers).

Thanks for the reply.

Wes

Sounds like you need to order the factory manual for the truck and use the electrical schematics to figure out what your after. ;)

I'm all up for that.

I thought as large as the site is and as knowledgeable everyone is that I might be able to get a few answers before I receive my manual.

Thanks,

Wes
