Howdy all,

I am going to replace the air induction system on Godzilla, and I was wondering what else comes in commercial kits such as the Psycotty besides just the K&N filter? Surely there must be something else??

I could just buy the filter and pre-filter myself, but maybe there is something valuable I'd be missing then.

Many thanks,
Tom

Take a good look at the install at the site and see if thats the kind of modification you want. Maybe I mis understood your question.

Thanks Lil' Dog. When I saw HVAC's Ram a few weeks ago, he had at least the K&N 0880 filter, but he didn't have any type of cover over it at that time, and I don't believe he had the 4 1/2" hole cut into the cowl either. To me, without asking him directly, it appeared he basically had just removed the stock airbox and stuck the K&N 0880 filter into the end of the intake hose. I was just wondering if I could do that myself, or if there are additional pieces that come with the Psychotty system that would be extremely beneficial.

Thanks again,
Tom

Check out my site below. I've got some pictures of my RE-0880 installed. All you need is the filter and a piece of 4 inch pipe about 3 inches long. I used PVC S&D pipe on mine. Slide the pipe inside the filter. That gives support for the turbo hose that will slide over the filter mount and be clamped on with the hose clamp already on the turbo hose.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Curtis. That's exactly what I had hoped to hear. Not that I wouldn't want to get a Psychotty system, just that right now $$ are tight, and I have other BOMBs in mind, and wanted to know if I could save a few bucks. Looking at a 4" straight exhaust and replacement fuel tank soon #ad

Tom,I started out with a 0880 installed like Curtis described, much improvement over the stock airbox, but didn't see the 150° decrease in EGTs until I installed the Pyscotty.
The Pyscotty doesn't come with the 0880 so starting out with it alone will cost no more than if you decide to add a Pyscotty later. If you are installing the 0880 alone I would suggest also getting the outer foam prefilter mainly to protect the 0880 from rubbing damage.

If your are gonna BOMB, I would suggest getting the Psychotty system, I do not have one for obvious reasons. But the testing and quick calculations of inlet air temperature reduction will save you about 150°F of EGT down the road. Of course this is just my belly button err opinion. #ad

Total price should be around $75 for both. I got my filter from Summit Racing www.summitracing.com .
You have to go to thier search area(click on "buy parts" on the left of the screen then click search on the next page and enter the part number KNN-RE0880. This is their part number. The prefilter is P/N KNN-250880.

Thanks for your help, Gitch
Got mine today #ad

If your looking for Volume, go with the Re-0880.
If your looking for lower intake air temps, get the Pschotty.

That is a pretty good price #ad
Around here the parts jockey at a couple different stores either say, "never heard of it " or 75. 99. This is much better #ad
