when i start my 600 up cold it idles like it's running on 4 or 5 cylinders. i had the reflash for white smoke and mpg done yesterday. started it this morning, 44 degrees and idled real rough. power seems like it's way down. you guy's with the 600 have the same problem? tia... . james :D

Its been in the low 30's a few mornings here and mine starts and runs with no problems at all, I don't even get white smoke. Everythign seems normal with mine, no power loss either. Truck has not had an reflashes done to it. Its a 600, the truck was built in January.

Mine did it this morning. The coldest morning so far, somewhere in the upper 20's. All I did was run the RPM's up to about 1,000 for about 15 seconds and it went away.

I fired mine up this morning 32 degrees (not plugged in) and it didn't act or sound any different that when I start it on a warm summer day?

No problems here, coldest morning recently about 38*. Starts right up, idles fine.

Just had reflash a couple weeks ago, but no problems before reflash either. Sounds like you might have bad injector?

The motor kinda gets the "shakes" at startup but everything evens out after a few minutes. All three of my trucks do that when the temps are at or below freezing. ANd yes the truck feels sluggish all the oils (engine, power steering, axle, trans) is very slow moving and takes a bit to get flowing.

Started mine up this morning 30 degrees and it runs ruff plus I get some blue smoke for about 15 seconds. This seems to have gotten worse since the flash.

My truck and my old '01 would do that if I got fuel at a certain station. I switched stations and don't have the problem anymore. Maybe it's bad fuel.

Mine is runs rough at start up when the temperature drops but I had the high idle added when I got the reflash. It only takes about 30 seconds and it smooths out using the high idle.

Injectors. Probably several.

Mine does but it also runs that way all day. The dealer is putting is a new map sensor in.

rough idle

tobaccogrower, i got a 600ho also-2004. 5 . at start up it idles rough but then straightens up after a couple of minutes. i wouldnt worry about it , seems to be a trait of the diesel. im a new 1st time owner + it's not bothering me. now if that "rough idle" time seems to be getting longer + longer, then i might worry about it. just my opinion.

Yep my 600 does it to, rough idle and white smoke for about 10-30 second depending on the morning. Im not surprised we are the only ones with this problem, and reason I say problem is the majority of the people with 600's dont get the white smoke and rough idle.

yeah man mine does it too and it seems almost like it would stall out even but it gets going just fine and it doesn't matter what temperature it's always been like that on mine. I know another guy with one and his is the same way because i asked him about it when he was installing injectors and he doesn't know why either i figure as long as it runs good it's ok with me

i'm starting to wonder if the thud, thud, thud i hear when i come to a stop somtimes could be the engine missing. it will do it after i deceloerate to a stop. the power of this truck since day one was similar to my 99 bone stock with 190hp  not wery impressive for a 325hp truck. i took my buddy that has a 04 duramax for a ride the other day. he egged me on to get into it to see what it would do. when i punched it he laughed. i went for a ride in his duramax and am unhappy to say that thing bone stock will spank my ram. truck goes in to dodge tonight to set so the mechanic can cold start it tomorrow. hopefully he will be able to pinpoint the problem.

My '05 610# has not done it yet. It has not been below 40* here yet, if that makes a difference. No reflashes and bone stock. :)

Mine has been doing the same thing. I noticed it did it really bad Sunday afternoon. I started the truck and it was shaking like crazy. I immediately shut it off and started it again and it was still doing it. I put it in gear and my wife asked me what was wrong with the truck and I said that I did not know. I put it back in park and it was not shacking as bad. I shut it off and started it again, still the same thing. I drove it back towards the house and stopped at a gas station and it was still doing it. About a 20-mile drive. While driving it felt fine. I shut it off and started it again and it ran fine. I am going to take it in sometime this week and see if they can figure anything out. :-laf
