While my truck is in the shop I was thinking about replacing the low fuel pressure light with a guage. Do the lights work good enough or is it worth replacing my a piller mount and everthing??

i have a light and a gauge the light didn't always come on when the fuel dropped below 4 or 5 psi if it stayed below there for a few seconds it would come on i personally prefer the gauge but i think the lights work

I think the light works great to get your attention to look at the gauge. With a guage you have indication ahead of time your LP is going before it happens usually. Could be to late with light.

snidley1,

The light is good for grabbing your attention immediately (if placed in a conspicuous spot) and causing you to look at the fuel pressure gauge to see whether the pressure is low or zilch. Of course, if you don't have a gauge...

And like Jefff929 I use the gauge to know when to change the filter, hard to do with a light unless you plan on stopping immediately to change the filter every time the light comes on.

Godspeed,
Trent

i run a Hobbs switch to an Autometer warning light along with my gage... . i have the switch set @8psi... if for some reason the pressure drops to 8psi the light will come on and i see it right away... . i run the RASP with the stock L/P for back-up... IMO the best set-up that ever hit the market

only have a light on mine, and it has worked everytime that i have had a failure... much eaiser to install and in my case just as reliable.

What i was thinking about was if the lift pump fails will the injection pump pull enough fuel to keep the light from coming on??

if the injection pump is pulling fuel that would indicate vacuum, or "0" psi and the light would come on.
