Glad to see it's not just me, if any of you all find out anything else please post it or pm and I will do the same. I am going to the dealer tomorrow, although it sounds like there is nothing wrong.

Hey CTD 600 - The same thing also happens with me. I have a 05 2500 that I ordered and picked up on Jan 3, 2005 with 8 miles on the clock. Ever since day 1 whenever I release the clutch and shift into neutral when coming to a stop my RPM's will drop to about 650 then bounce up to 850 and will settle on 750 when I come to the stop. It almost seems to bounce more when I apply the brakes hard and then release and then hard again. I asked this same question in the No Engine/Transmission discussion forum and was told by multiple people that this was normal. You are right though - it is annoying!

Yeah, Brandon, that's exactly what mine does. When the RPM's drop does your truck body vibrate, at first mine didn't but over time (only 8000 miles) it vibrates some when the RPM's drop. I noticed the thing with the brakes too.

My truck doesn't vibrate - hope that it doesn't anytime in the future. It really is annoying but since I just received the truck at the beginning of January I don't know if this is just a cold weather thing that will go away when warm weather comes. Has this happened to you in warm weather? Anyway, many people here have said this is normal for me ( not sure about if normal for you since you have vibration) but I can tell you that I drive an F550 at work (Not my choice that I have to drive a Ford - ha, ha) and it started doing the same thing and the truck actually shut off a few times. Had to take it in and there was a problem (can't remember what it was - I will try to find out). I only have about 650 miles on the clock so I hope I don't get the vibration deal on my truck! I also have a buddy at work that got a '04. 5 2500 and his does the same thing without the vibration. Let me know if you find anything out from the dealer. BTW - my truck is bone stock.

Thanks,

Brandon

Mine's not normal

Mine is a Dec 04 build picked up 2 weeks ago and have just over 1300 miles on it.

Always have clutched and popped out of gear when approaching an intersection no matter what gear I was in. I have never experienced any noises or vibrations but then again I don't have that many miles on it.

Today as I was approaching a gate I needed to stop and open, I made

a point of being in 3rd/1200 rpm, clutched and popped it out of gear

and everything was smooth as can be. It just drifted down to 750 and

stayed there.

I got my truck back in July 04 and every since new it would oscillate RPM's when clutched, the vibration just started this past few weeks, and it has been cold as h***. It's not a bad vibration, it's the same sensation like if you pull out in 2nd going up a little hill without giving it any full, kinda like a lugging. It does it the same with and without the EZ and I checked it has thrown no codes. I am going to the dealership tomorrow and I will update you all.

It is annoying though isn't it?

i don't even notice the idle bounce thing though... i downshift 99% of the time down to 3rd gear and once i hit about ±900rpm in 3rd coasting to stop, i'll pop it in neutral and it really doesn't do it... [and if it does, i don't notice it]

Just back from the dealership and had the mechanic ride with me, he said there's no way to do anything it's just the nature of the beast, he's a pretty reliable guy too according to one of my friends. He said he really hadn't noticed it before but he will start watching the other trucks and see how common it is. So where does that leave us boys, live with it until somebody figures something out I guess. I got a new fuel filter today and I'll tell you all if it makes a difference. Jay

TNelson, let me know how your visit at the dealership goes, thanks.

Pulled the old fuel filter and it was black, with the new fuel filter seems like the vibration has almost stopped, still does the idle bounce thing but the truck acts now like when it was new (I think) it's hard to tell just in the subdivision but I definitely think it helped. I am going to start changing the fuel filter every other oil change, screw the maintenace schedule.
