1999 2500 Quad Cab, 5Speed. I currently have a 4" exhaust system on the truck without the resinator. Do I have to have a muffler? Will there be problems if I take it off. Please advise:) :)

That was my first BOMB before I even new TDR existed.

"Muffler fell off the 2nd week":rolleyes: :D

Do it, you'll love it! 18. 5K miles later no problems with my straightpiped Cummins.

I am going straight soon. I was afraid it would be too loud, but everyones i heard sounded great. Not too offensive

no muff

Sounds better driving down the road. :D I left the resonator on for some consideration to my neighbors. :-laf It does get noticed on the road. LOUD pipes save lives. :-laf :-laf

No Muff or resonator here, even the Wife likes it!! The neighbors say:--) when I take off at full throttle:-laf

seems as though i'm one of the very few who have gotten pulled over for a straight pipe exhaust. the cops here are murder!

I try to stay out of the throttle when I see a cop. Here in MA they are more likely to pull me over for the smoke. I have a straight piped 360 V8 CJ and same deal I have to be real light on the gas when I see the nice officer:{

Yes, you'll love it straight-piped, I especially like it in stereo (Duals out the side). If you're hot dogging around, showin off, yes you could be cited for noise violations or reckless driving. I've had no problems, most officers I've talked to have complemented me on the sound.

Thing is once you hear that rumble, it's hard to keep your foot out of it.
