Was hauling some cattle last week and started to notice something didnt feel quite right with my truck. Seemed to be "slipping" a little when I was really towing hard up and down hills. I noticed it more this week, without towing the trailer just hauling some Big Round Bales. Went to a Farm/Ranch show in Wichita today, and really noticed it, whenever I really accelerated, in about every gear I ran through. I've never had a standard transmission, but it sure feels like an old automatic transmission that starts slipping. This is a stock clutch, from what I know, so what type/brand should I go with if I replace this one? I pull about 20,000#'s when my trailer is loaded with cattle, so I want heavy duty clutch that will outlive the present transmission. I just fixed the 5th gear nut last spring, and replaced a few bearings in the transmission at that time.

thanks,

whats you budget and are you gonna add any HP. if so how much. my 13" ofe from southbend felt like the stocker and was rated at 450hp and 1k trq. sounds like youve slipped it alot. better act quickly.

I dont expect to anything to the motor as far as horsepower enhancements go, and will just continue to use it for my farm/ranch hauling and pulling. Yes, I agree, I need to get something pretty quickly, as this is my main vehicle I use daily. I only want to fix this once, so I want to put something in that will last, so I dont know what my budget would be?

considering how smooth my ofe was id recomend that. you could get the con o but if your pulling heavy i think the ofe can handle anything you throw at it in stock hp. there not cheap but peter will take care of you.

The OFE can handle way more than a stock truck can throw at it! I love mine and I would definately buy there again if I ever need to... . :D
