The whole thing about taking attention from the road is crap. I rarely look at my EGT unless I'm in a situation where I think EGTs may be getting high. It's the same with the fuel gage, speedo or even radio tuner ... ... ... all of this information is there when you need it.

I've raced at over 130mph on a 3/8 mile high bank dirt track with 25 other cars ... ... ... 800 horsepower alcohol injected small block chevy on kill! Gages are a must! Was I watching the gages? LOL, I don't think so! There is not enough time, unless I felt something needed attention!

I'm sure it's the same only compounded in a fighter like Ryan posted. The information is there, but most taken for granted until the seat of the pants says otherwise.

In my opinion, there is no such thing as too much information when operating a piece of machinery!

if I had more money than brains, I'd be pretty damn wealthy, because I'm pretty damn smart ;) :p

do you put electrical tape over your tachometer so it doesn't "distract" you while driving too? :-laf

BTW, the "Gump" thing is pretty original... never heard that one before! LOL!

Hey , I prefer gauges but the bottom line is every one here paid for or is paying for their $40k toys. It's a matter of preference its your money .

If you melt pistons while towing too bad , would've been nice to have seen it coming.

My $. 02

Picking up my 05' DRW 3500 CTD 6 SPD tomorrow and trading in my 99 3500 with that dreaded 47 RE transmission.

Chrysler , get your head out of the sand and address some of these chronic problems we are dealing with!

Gauges are a personal preference. I prefer them, and recommend them. But then again, just about all of my customers modify their trucks anyhow.

Do they distract me while driving, no way! They provide very useful information.

Check it out. Does this look too busy? For some it may, but for others, it won't. Build it the way you want it. That's part of individualizing your truck.
