taking it in tomorrow, and forgot that they might not like my fueling box. Should I remove it? Will they enter it in the computer that I have box and void my warranty? Thanks.

should you, I do...

Dixie, I would remove it. If the dealer asks why the velcro is there, say you tried one once, but decided it cost too much so you returned it that weekd. Just my thoughts, but I would use velcro, I'd use those zipties, and tie them to the hoses around the fuse box insted.

You could always take it somewhere else for the oil change if you don't want to do it yourself... the dealer will overcharge you most likely anyway.

You can go to Jiffy Lube or similar, take your own filter and possibly your own oil. They will still do it, that's what I did for my first oil change cause I didn't want to wrestle with the factory installed filter.

You can also get a small plastic box for choke tubes or fishing lures that will velcro on there as well, for fuses of course.

Disguise it!

I have a small plastic parts box for fuses, elect tape and other small parts that I keep under the seat. The box has velcro on the bottom. When the DDTTM box comes off for a dealer visit, I just stick the plastic box in it's place. Perfect disguise for the telltale velcro strips. I wish I could take credit for this, but I believe another member posted this awhile back.

Another option that you can do... :D :D

Cut a piece of plexiglass, plastic or whatever material sized 5"x 6". Drill two holes on each side along the edge where it lines up with the fuse cover opening tabs. Insert a zip tie right through the middle of the tab and through the drilled hole in the 5x6 cover. Do this on each side. Put your velcro on that cover and if you ever need to take it off... . (like if you ever have to have it unexpectedly towed back to the dealer)... . just cut it off and no traces left on the fuse box. :) :)

If you live in south east Ga. take it out, the area service rep. is an *******. I took my muffler and resonator off and they said they would void my warrenty and report me to the feds whatever that means. They kept telling me to put the catalitic converter back on, even though I told the idiots it never had one! I would not let them even wash my windshield, much less change the oil.

Edited : For language, please keep it within the guidelines language wise.

One of my customers drove in with an EZ hooked up and they BUSTED his warranty right on the spot! C'mon guys, let that sleeping dog alone. Pull the box off BEFORE you go to the dealership. It is not worth it.

Will the ECM show a record of modifications? Can the dealer hook into the truck's computer and tell?

Just avoid the dealer, they are snitches, and you can get muc hbetter service 9 times out of 10 from independent repair shops,Only go to dealer for warranty work, everything else is overpriced.

Dixie,

Do your own oil & filter change. I did my first one on my diesel about a month ago and everything went fine. Lots cheaper, too. Just have to get rid of the old oil.
