I've got a good friend who ownes an F350 srw 4x4. We constantly give each other jabs about who's truck is better. Yesterday I sent him a video clip of a cummins pulling a ford in a tug-of war. The cummins stomped it hard:)

Now he wants to do the same against my 1st gen. He told me his is chipped at 475 hp. Do I stand a chance? I've got the pump tweaked, fuel screw turned in and POD's. My transmission is a SunCoast with the Pro-Lock converted built for towing. I told him I only have 160 hp :-laf

It is a question of traction... not power. I saw that vid on Pirate.

It is not a great idea, but if you must do it be safe. Use a heavy towstrap with no hooks or shackles to become projectiles if it breaks.

Thanks guys. I bully up to his bet and see if he's talking straight or backs down. I'm not worried about the transmission as it was built to my specs for heavy hauling. I think new tires are needed though, mine are quite worn. Should it be done on asphault or dirt?

I just found out he's got the F/X 4 with factory installed Stage III PSD Performance package which boosts the HP to 425 and torque to 775. It also has 4. 30 gears with limited slip. .

This could be really interesting. We'll be meeting at hooters tonight for our weekly get together (beer club) and I'll seal the deal.

Like ARhine said, power means nothing. A v6 gasser can spin it's tires on tar in low range. It all comes down to weight and traction. If you go on tar, I'd say you're going backwards, I've hooked to 1st gens with my truck and jerked them around like nothing was there. (empty vs empty) The 1st gens are light, a big disadvantage. You may get him on dirt if you have really good tires, tar is possible too if you have more tires spinning than him. There's a lot of things that make a difference, don't be afraid of his power, but his traction (weight, tires, limited slip... etc. .

Unfortunately when I agreed to the tug-o-war, he smiled , laughed and said there was no way he would tear up his truck. His bluff was called :-laf I even let him buy the next pitcher of beer.

You lied. Put 1000 pounds in the bed. How do your tires match up against his? He has you on weight. You should have enough power, the race will be won on traction.

No way would I do that.Dangerous

What happens If someone gets hurt or killed. No way. Buy him a bottle of pop and he wins. I think to much of my truck to do that. Now look at this dog hitch hiking a ride on a Dodge.

Dude Thats Not A Dodge

HEY KEN IF YOU THINK THATS A DODGE SLOWLY PUT DOWN THE KEY BOARD AND STEP AWAY FROM YER PUTER MAN THAT SAYS GMC FOR GOT MECHANIC COMING DEFFENT NOT A DODGE DEM OLD DUDES GO EVERY WHERE :-laf :--)
