Do New Auto Trans. Need Set-up?

Do new auto trans need to be set up? Or, can they be ordered & shipped from one of the many custom transmission shops being talked about here and installed? I have the facilities to do the swap but no proficient persons if set-up (IE: programing/tuning) is required.

The Goerend Brothers transmission I put in my 95 was just a bolt in deal. You might have to slightly adjust the TV cable. Be sure to blow out the cooler lines to get the old oil out.
