Fuel milage

I have installed an external oil filter kit in the oil cooler return line which added another quart of fluid capacity. I'm going to add an additional transmission cooler before I start pulling any hills.



That inline filter is NOT a good idea on these newer transmissions, nor is another cooler unless they have their own pump.



The cooler return oil is also lube oil, if you add to the restriction you run the risk of shorting the transmission on lube because it can't push it far enough fast enough. Recommendations are for a divorced system with a pump to circulate seperately and leaving the stock cooling system as is.



The stock cooler is fairly robust and if you switched to the better valves in the VB removing the inline check ball will help flow. :)
