Just curious... I have the opportunity to buy a low-mileage Nissan Pathfinder that was driven in Ohio for 3 yrs. It seems nice, but I definitely do not want to buy a "rust bucket".
I can't answer your question, but I would assume that they do. Not as much as they do here in Michigan, I am sure, because their roads seem to hold together better than ours.
They do use salt in Ohio. Depending on the owner though this may not be a problem. My friend just bought a 96 Cummins from inside the snow blet (around Cleveland). Though they use a lot of salt every year this truck is in great shape no rust inside or out. If you have a chance to check it out and it does not belong to a dealer then look behind the rear tire in between the inner and outer fenders. If this is full I would not sujjest buying it. If it is on a dealer lot this won't work, they clean them to well. Don't be scared of truck from Ohio... just check them better.
Ohio is the salt capitol of the world,it's mined from under lake eire. I know alot of guys that depend on salt work for thier dump trucks to make it though the winter. Doc one reason might be the wieght laws for trucks ,you guys are aloud to run much heavier.
P. S. I don't know if it's the capitol or if it just seems that way.
