I was wondering, hope it is OK to post it here. Last time I took my truck in for service, my service guy made a comment about a comment I had posted on here!!!! Needless to say I was shocked and amazed. But more shocking was how he even knew it was me. My username is the same as my E-mail, that is the only thing I can put together as to how he knew it was me. They are an an awesome dealership, but I had made the comment that buying fluids from the "Stealership" ( Meaning you will pay more from a dealer than say autozone) would cost more. He was not real happy, but atleast joked around about it. Has this ever happened to anyone else?? :--)

I have had a direct email from the Parts manager at my dealer that said he had seen my posts on another forum. It is too late for me, but I suspect that many service techs, service writers, salesmen and parts managers do monitor a number of forums. So poster beware, anything you post is public knowledge for everyone, DC and your dealer.

Sorta puts emphasis upon personal integrity and honesty, doesn't it! ;)

Personally, I rarely say things or post stuff here I wouldn't want my dealer, family or others to see - I never have been an advocate of installing stuff on my truck I *knew* would cause warranty issues, with the plan in mind to frantically REMOVE that stuff in order to screw the dealer out of warranty coverage if my "backyard re-engineering" fails...

I sorta respect my dealer, had very few occasions not to - and I'd sorta like to conduct myself in a manner that would encourage my dealer to also respect ME! ;) :D

Yep, it reminds me of a rule of thumb my dear ole departed Dad tried to teach me when I was growing up 50-something years ago - "Son, you'd be wise never to say anything behind a man's back that you wouldn't say to his face!" ;) :D

Well I sorta feel the same way and since I have posted pics with my Lic # clearly visable there is little question of who it is. I am planning to have my trans upgraded in the next month or so. Then I will decide what box(es) and other mods to do. When finished I plan to take the truck to my Service Manager and talk about what I have added. If warranty work is still approved for future problems, so much the better, but I will accept what ever decision that is made and pay the bill. I will plan on "paying for my playing".

I, for one, hope manufacturers and dealers read this site. I would hope they pay attention to the problems people find on here (like Fireman's famous fuel tank vent issue and the new radiator chaffing problem).

And I wouldn't be ashamed to let my dealer read every post I've ever made on here. But I'm pretty sure they don't have the slightest clue this place exists. They kinda go glassy-eyed if you mention the internet.

There is a reason why my username is my real name and my home town and other info is listed in my profile (as well as my phone number and such in the Travel Companion); I say only what I would say to someones face in my posts and it is frustrating at times when the really antagonistic posts come from some unidentifiable guy with no fixed address!

I hafta say, though, that the TDR is so much better than some of the other forums I participate in. Some of the car forums are frequented by prepubescent teens who (secure in thier anonyminity) are quick to denegrate the discussions into a vile, vulgar, name calling sessions. I don't mean to tar our younger TDR members with the same brush, but I do think that the average age of our members has something to do with the improved "tone" here.

Sorry to get off on a tangent.

That is one of the reasons we have everyones last names listed on their user profile page. We considered at one time requiring people to use their real names. We also at one time put their last name under their username but got quite a few complaints on that. Only members can view the profile page - so roperteacher, if the guy at your dealer is a subscriber he could have gotten it from there.

I was not ashamed of what I said, and didn't mean it in a mean way. . LOLOL SO my writer and I laugh almost every time I go in. . I have not modded or will ever mod. THe cummins as is is more than meets my needs... :)

Well I have praised my dealer for the service they have given me on this and other forums. I have had warranty repairs denied and ok'd, and agreed with the decisions. I have recommended them for service in the local area when asked. Maybe the parts manager will give me an extra discount next time I buy something. I do expect any dealer/manufacturer to investigate any questionable engine/drive train problems that are out of the ordinary. The service department has a job to do and quidelines they must follow. I hope they always do a good job at warranty determination and on any repairs that are necessary.

If my dealer is reading this, my truck is bone stock. I never drive over the speed limit, my check is in the mail, they are the best dealer in the world and have always treated me well, my maintenance is always performed on schedule, I only allow Mopar parts and consumables to be used, and all my work is done by this dealer. Oo.

My service manager knows I have the TST and EZ and told me right up front that they would still warranty it unless I would do something like blow a turbo twice in 10,000 miles. He actually was trying to sell me a Bullydog Power Pup when I first had work done on my truck. Sure is nice not having to take off the boxes before going in.

"Sure is nice not having to take off the boxes before going in. "

UMMmmm - not to be a smart%^&, but why WOULD you hafta "take off the boxes before going in", *IF* you were responsible, straight up and honest with ANY dealer? ;) :p

After all, THAT is what most of us seem to be talking about here... :-laf :-laf

AFter dealing with two different Dodge dealers, and one Ford dealer over the past several years and several trucks, it always amazes me how I usually know more about what is, or might be wrong than them.

They barely have any clue about the internet. Unless your service advisor is a truck/and/or /diesel guy, he or she is probably CLUELESS about TDR and other enthusiast sites.

I tried to get the dealer I worked for to bring up several of these sites so the techs could read and MAYBE just MAYBE fix one without moaning for days on end. But NOOOOOOO. Who needs any more info to help repair or get involved in diesels. D. C. does have folkes reading "these" daily I feel sure of.

Because I've heard of dealers voiding entire warranties because of a performance box. If something tears up because of my box, then I'll pay to repair it, or at least offer to. :D I'm just not in the mood to loose my warranty on my windshield wipers because of my TST. . ;)

KLENGER if your dealer reads that he'll know your full of it. No one hardly ever says that many good and positive things to ONE dealer at the same time.

My Dealer told me he was going to do everything he could to keep the warranty guys from coming down to see the truck. It was just a worn out trac bar. but he said the oversize tires would void the warranty if they saw it. I told him straight up that it had mods done to it and he didn't seem to care at all. One of the techs at the shop thought my bd box was a freaking brake controller ha ha :)
