Sometimes, in the rush to bash service departments owners feel treated them poorly, we overlook the decent ones...

With that in mind, I'll plug the one I most recently dealt with for their excellent and fast service - Vacaville Dodge in the city of Vacaville on I-80 west of Sacramento. Had a passenger side mirror replaced, and a vacuum pump seal replaced - first, am thoroughly happy at the FEW repairs needed on my truck to this point, and am VERY satisfied at the professional treatment and service they delivered.

My experience was while they were still owned and operated by the Williams family - and I can only trust and hope that their recent transfer of ownership to Lithia hasn't affected their former operating standards...

coming from a city with 120,000 people (stamford, ct) i had gotten used to shoddy dealerships so when i moved to chestertown,md i expected good, neat, clean, reasonable work from the dealership here. i guess all dealers are alike. had my grill shell replaced today under warranty and the butcher who did the work should be ashamed to refer to himself as a mechanic. removing the bug shield (that was on the truck when i bought it from them) he pried & twisted what was left of the fasteners rather than carefully removing them so they could be reused totally ruining them & the service manager tells me i need to go buy new fasteners. then when i went to wash the truck i noticed the ctd fender emblem i made into a grill badge had been refastened on the grill so tight it cracked the plexiglas backing plate i handmade for it. with a little care both of these could have been avoided. also you'd think after paying cash for the truck & not playing any games buying it they'd be little accomodating buying parts. i bought the quad cab laramie chrome door moldings, 2 ctd fender emblems & a bottle of touch up paint & was charged 386. 00. when i questioned this ridiculous amount i was just told "nothing i can do about it" and he said if the markup was actually so high he'd be sitting on a beach instead of selling parts. they are getting me new fasteners for the bugshield & a new ctd emblem but in reality that's the bare minimum, nothing for my time to remake the backing plate or any kind of parts discount. they shouldn't have to be doing that to begin with if their hack had been more careful & forget about any discount on parts. 100% list is their standard pricing policy, sorry. everything here is stuff i said right to the owner so i don't really care if they read it, in fact i hope they do & i hope they're embarrassed by it. i thought i had found a really good, small town, caring, service oriented dealer & all i got was more of the same. sorry to type & run but i have to get back to making another backing plate for my ctd emblem to replace the one that cretin cracked (the owner got really defensive when i called his mechanic an idiot but when you do crap work like that you're an idiot). btw ford's not much better. my buddy has a brand new f-150 & the clearcoat on all 4 wheels is discoloring & ford won't do anything about it. nice to dump 30-40k & be left hanging in the wind with defective crap (love my cummins, ****** at dodge, ok a specific dealer)

Because I've heard of dealers voiding entire warranties because of a performance box. If something tears up because of my box, then I'll pay to repair it, or at least offer to. :D I'm just not in the mood to loose my warranty on my windshield wipers because of my TST. . ;)

Don't worry about loosing your wiper blade warranty coverage... ... ..... it already has expired. They are only covered 12/12 :D

Dealer CAN"T void warranty. D. C. has to. They can't void warranty on entire vehicle. Only on parts that are messed up IF affected by a power enhancer.

I think you get the point though. Some dealers can be so anal that they will try to make your life hell on earth if they know you've modified anything. I got a friend that had the dealer tell him that if anything happened to his truck, they wouldn't cover it just because he added a bhaf and modified the exhaust. We all know these mods aren't going to hurt anything under normal circumstances, so why take the chance with the dealers that seems quite incompetent when it comes to minor mods. I'm EXTREMELY thankful for the service manager that I have. But like was said already, honesty goes a long way. They take care of the people they trust.
