I'm talking about your Boss at the work place, not the one at home. I have to say I have one cool Boss at work. He will stand up for you, and back you up. Most of the time the company will promote with in, and that makes a big difference. Already knowing the work involved, and the do's and don'ts that is. But sadly for us he will be eligible for retirement in just a few months. Where trying to figure away to make him stay. :-laf . He's only 54!

The boss I am working for now is the best one I have had in over 30 years of working. Not only is he my boss, but he has become my friend too.

My current boss is a ****, keeps promising things that never materialize. 4 yrs as a temporary employee for the county and no light at the end of the tunnel as to when I might get in "full time" . Been working 40 hr weeks all the way through with exception of holidays of which i recieve no compensation for! Someone tell me what is it I'm supposed to be looking forward too! Thanks, I shall step down now!! Mark

My "Boss" is like a diaper.

Always on my keester, and usually full of crap.

Seriously though, he leaves me alone and lets me do my job.

It's those times when I need his assistance that he's full of promises that never materialize. (That's IF you can ever actually find him to talk to him. )

My boss isn't that bad but when he uses his brain look out.

All I can say is when hes not there man do things run well.

When I need or want something I just go and see the owner of the company, its the only way to get things done at my place.

Now as a person my boss is OK but he just cant handle making decisions.

We've got a nasty one here , a female in her 30's. Every couple of years, national headquarters rotates them out to yet another factory, for a promotion to yet another position. We can't wait for this one to leave. Every "t" must be crossed, and every "i" dotted, or you get written up. Micro-management, with a vengeance.

Fortunately, I have my master electrician's license, and can leave when it gets too deep.

My boss is really cool. He lets me take off whenever I need to, work whatever hours I feel are nec. , pays me whatever I think is nec. , I pretty much come and go as needed. I'm also self employed!:D

At times I like him at times I don't. If I want to learn something I usually goto one of the other guys because he's always on the phone or to busy to stick around more than 2 min.

After 5 years of employment with a local utility contractor I asked for a better position in the company,as the full time excavator operator, instead of a truck driver, and not for any more money. They hired a 67 year old retiree (not a bad thing). So with that said I decided to take it upon myself to start up my own utility company and do my own thing.

I am my own boss and I like me alot better. Oo.

My current boss is kind of a flake. At the company I work at, a lot of the guys who screwed up in the trades (injuries waiting to happen, messing up equipment on accident…etc), move into management. Anyway, the guy couldn’t cut it as an electrician. Back in the 80’s when he was in his apprenticeship (and I was playing with lego’s) he did a lot of coke and such. He was a crappy Journeyman, always had home problems, he had some crazy wife that beat him. So anyway, about 10 years ago he got the opportunity to go in to low level management at the utility company where I work. That is where he has been ever since. He is always on time in the morning, but by lunch he is gone to get some seagrams and seven-up, and head home. So everybody else pitches in a little to do his job for him, and we don’t care because as a perk, we get free reign of the place : )

Since I work for myself only part time, I guess I only like myself part of the time... ... ... ... . does that make sense???????

I work in a field that has DOT oversight (rules out the wazzzoooo) and alot of Senior Management scrutiny. What sucks about here is that folks can rate and rank me and I don't even report to them  . And to top it all off, my direct supervisor and I compete for the same pool of raise money, how fair is that. When I brought that up in a meeting, how certain people and their direct supervisor, compete for the same pool of raise money, they thought I was on crack. I literally had to break it down and explain what was happening. The Big Manager just said well I will have to look into that... ... ..... Five years later no change.
