He's 'interesting' and tries pretty hard to be a motor head. He didn't believe the stats I quoted him on the Mighty Cummins. Ahem. I made him go look them up. He admitted I was right.

Mostly he leaves me alone and I just do my job. When something breaks or I notice something is broken, I can go to him and get the right people called in to fix it. He even protects me from the idiot co-worker we are all trying to get fired.

Boss?

My boss is as good as HIS boss will let him be. The old boss was a great guy & knew his stuff. He was too independant for upper management, so they made a change. The new guy is under lots of restrictions. He does try to give us what we need, & personally he is an ok guy.

I have only thought he was OK twice in three years. A-Ho in the Tahoe or Creep in the Jeep... depends on what he's driving.

we all just love our boss, lobbied for over a year and insinuated to upper management there could be problems if she wasn't promoted.

Our former supervisor was allowed to leave after racial and sexual harassment charges were brought against him, and for a year, we had no supervisor.

When the position openned up, we talked the senior person in the shop into taking the position (this is a paint shop at a govt facility) and she finally agreed.

She is like a Mom to the 5 of us guys in the shop, brings us donuts once a week, asks our input on jobs coming in, we have gotten more favorable feedback from our clients as to productivity, we have overhauled our shop, streamlined our operations, and it for me, positively a pleasure to make the 80 mile drive in to work each day because I know I can get my job done with minimal BS.

we get more work done with less stress, our biggest problem is waiting on the other trades so we can complete our projects.

Problem is, our boss plans to retire in about 2 years, then we will have to provide our own donuts.

THE FORD GUY

I have two. The one I work for at the dairy, a guy in his early thirties, is the best! He says that they don't pay us enough for him to be a tyrant to us. You can joke with him and he's so easy going. The assistant herdsman is great too, a friend of mine for years. He's extremely laid back. Not a thing bothers him. They're both very hard workers and very understanding. On the other hand, my boss at the vet school is extremely unprofessional and all kinds of other things too, but she does smile while she does it. She's got too much to worry about with her catting husband (works here also). I don't see her much though, thank God.
